Sileby Town RFC

It was always going to be a tough afternoon for Sileby against an Oundle Rugby Club side who went unbeaten throughout last season — but what followed was an awesome display of determination, teamwork and fighting spirit from our Vikings.

Sileby started brightly, with Izzy Spary crossing to put us 5–0 ahead. Oundle hit back and took the lead, but Sileby refused to let the game get away from them, going into half-time 5–12 down.

The second half saw Oundle extend their advantage, but credit to our team — they dug deep, stuck together and stayed in the fight for the full 80 minutes.

And what a finish!

Isobelle Tuttle crossed to bring us back to 10–29 before Jess Wade added another try just a minute later, making it 15–29 at the final whistle.

Every single player gave 100%, battled for every ball and never stopped working for each other. That togetherness and determination is something the whole team can be proud of.

A huge well done to everyone who pulled on the Sileby shirt today.

A massive thank you to Oundle too. They always play the game in the right spirit, and their attitude makes playing against them such great fun!

We now move into the Junior Plate competition
