Today saw Sileby Town Ladies take to the field for the highly anticipated semi-final of the Leicestershire RFU Women’s County Cup against Market Bosworth RFC Lionesses.
With relentless rain in the build-up, the pitch at Platts Lane was heavy underfoot — muddy, slippy, and sure to test both sides. It was an evenly matched contest from the first whistle, with neither team able to break the deadlock in a fiercely competitive opening spell.
The breakthrough finally came in the 27th minute when Sileby crossed the line to put the first points on the board. From there, it remained a tough, physical battle, with both teams digging deep in difficult conditions.
When the final whistle blew, it was Sileby Town Ladies who emerged victorious with a 26–5 win — booking our place in the final!
Huge credit to Market Bosworth Lionesses for a hard-fought game, and massive thank you to everyone who came out to support in the rain. Your backing means everything
On to the final!
