πŸ”’ Final Score: Sileby Town RFC 38 – 15 Market Bosworth Lionesses

Sileby Town RFC Women made history this weekend, taking to the field for their first ever Junior Community Cup fixture – and what a performance it was, sealing a 38–15 victory in front of a home crowd at Platts Lane.

The game opened with real intent, as Alex crossed the line after just 7 minutes to put Sileby ahead. Market Bosworth responded strongly, levelling the score with a converted try at 22 minutes to edge in front. But Sileby hit back quickly – just 4 minutes later Ash powered over the line, with Lauren adding the extras to reclaim the lead.

The visitors kept the pressure on and struck again after 33 minutes, narrowing the margin to 12–10. Just after half time, Sileby were awarded a penalty try, giving them momentum after the break.

The second half saw Sileby step up the intensity. At the 60-minute mark Ash bagged her second try, once again converted by Lauren. Only five minutes later, Isha added another score and coolly slotted the conversion. With confidence building, Alex struck again in the final 10 minutes to extend the lead. Market Bosworth battled to the end and claimed a late try, but the match finished 38–15 in Sileby’s favour.

🌟 Standout Performances:

  • Forward of the Match: Cat – for her powerful carries and relentless work rate.

  • Back of the Match: Lauren – for her superb kicking and playmaking vision.

  • Opposition’s Pick: Ash – named Oppo of the Match by Market Bosworth after her two-try display.

This result was a true squad effort and a proud moment for the club in our first ever Junior Community Cup game.

πŸ™Œ A huge thank you to Market Bosworth Lionesses for a spirited contest, to everyone who braved the wet Sunday afternoon to cheer us on, and to all the volunteers who made the day possible.
